These are a few last pictures taken with the 12-60 zuiko before it got sold. I really miss it !!!

#14 for the love of museums

Louvre is one of the best museum i ever had a chance visiting.

#13 - old pics

i showed to my friend at work my old photos that i had uploaded to flickr and he was impressed. That reminded me of how i was actually quite good and it used to mean more than a past time activity once.

#12

i guess this is just a continuation of the previous post. Haha.

#11 - Hutang

Ever since we got back to JB from KL, i owed this blog 5 posts...
(talk about really trying to honour your own words)

been really busy since the beginning of the week so i couldn't really find the extra time to post something here. so here's a few pics taken on last sunday before we got back.

unedited, JPEG straight out of camera with the new lens.

#10 (khalifah)

yesterday we spent the entire day at the Tabung Haji complex, attending the raising young khalifah seminar. It was great!!!

anyway these pics are totally not related to it. later the night we went to Dip n Dip at The Cure=ve as somebody's been having quite a bad craving for chocolate.

#9 - belated birthday dinner

This is one of the reason you bought into a system-- to get to use one of the better lenses, not to just be content with a great body.
Took the plunge finally after only a week of buying the body.
I was initially aiming for the panasonic 20mm 1.7 but after doing a little bit of a re-research, i guess i'd be better off with the much newer zuiko 25mm 1.8-- faster focusing with my olympus body.

so here's a few pics me , wife and zaid having a dinner at The Majestic Hotel KL.
So far i am one please customer. :)

#8

this entry was supposed to be written on Thursday but I just could not find enough time to do it.
so here's a few pics of zaid swimming in his tok abie's pool once we arrived on Friday morning.

A day at the OT performing electroconvulsive therapy.

#6 (tong gas to workplace)

I kept the tong gas inside my car as i drove to work to have it changed after office hour finishes.

It looks so ridiculous people must have thought i have a part time job selling mee goreng at pasar malam.

#4 (oncall day)

I think this is called cheating because the picture below was not taken using the omd but with my iphone.

I guess i can allow myself a little cheat as there is no way i will be able to grab hold of the omd and capture anything as today is my oncall day.

So i have been stuck in the hospital and calls from the emergency department have been non stop since morning.

I did my maghrib prayer at the masjid very near to the hospital.

#3 (remote control)

This picture is amazing because it showcases how u can control the omd em10 via the wifi connection.

Actually its me fiddling away with the wifi settinf in my iphone as the camera captures the image. Brilliant in ideas and execution!

#1

salam wrt.

hi. so this is my first post after i decided to photo blog again.

i just got myself an Olympus OMD EM10, which to date is the most expensive camera i have bought so far.
actually the reason i'm doing this again is because i sort of promise myself that i would at least post a photo once a day. the camera is bloody expensive, (well at least to a non-professional and not-that-kind-of-enthusiast-yet like me) so i might as well put it into good use and hone my skills along the way.

i actually also have a Sony NEX 5n which is a good camera by the way but i guess i am always a fan of olympus cameras. Bought the 5n approximate 2 years ago before i went with my wife to Bali. At that point of time we needed an all rounder that is compact and capable as we're thinking of children along the way but i guess as a hobbyist, good quality sony lenses are prohibitively high so i decided to buy into a micro 43rds.

this morning i went for a walk at a semi-deserted open area near my apartment block just to try out my new camera.

i decided to name the blog 100 days of istiqomah because i think thats how many days i need to turn this into a habit that will last long.

this pic was taken using the built-in art filter soft-focus effect of the camera.
actually i have been trying to get myself to be istiqomah in a lot of other things--- like to never miss the jamaah prayer in the masjid for subuh and isyak, to read the quran everyday and so on. i hope in a way this might actually help.

this pic was taken using the built-in mild sephia art filter effect of the camera.

Maybe along the way i will talk about other matters as well, turn this into a blog full with opinions and other affairs that are of interest to me.

we'll see about that. insya allah.

salam.
